On May 22, Legendary NYC-based Jewelry company Avianne & Co. hosted Avianne Fit’s “Spread Health Not Hate” and “Stop The Violence” basketball tournament at New York City’s Robert Fulton community. Joe Avianne is widely known for making extravagant jewelry pieces for some of the best in pop culture like Travis Scott, Migos, Lil Wayne, Justin Bieber, Nicki Minaj, and so on.
With celebrity appearances from rappers Bobby Shmurda, Dave East, and Cam’ron, dozens of young kids had the opportunity to enjoy a recreational basketball game, face painting, free burgers, and drinks catered by Burgerology Midtown. According to a press release, this event was arranged to get the youth involved with a celebrated basketball tournament as a positive way for kids to play and interact with public figures from their community.
“I didn’t choose this. It chose me, I myself came from an inner-city community. I was trying to get out of the inner-city struggle. Now that I got out I’m giving back,” Joe shared.”People like Arthur Ashe, Sebastian Tellfear, Stefan Mulberry, and Parnell Legros came into the hood and gave people like me hope and really gave me something to live for. Just because I’m out it doesn’t mean it’s over.”
This year, we look forward to more events from Avianne Fit.
